'' But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. '' 1 Timothy 3:15
A minister of God is expected to have the highest level of moral standard , therefore there are etiquettes that must be observed by the man or woman of God . These are behavioral qualities that must be observed in the ministry by the minister of the gospel .Any man or woman of God must adhere to such conducts that are in sink with his highest calling as a minister of the gospel .
Any man of God must know how to behave himself in the house of God , in the presence of God , in the midst of the congregation , and in the public . The are somethings that are abominable for any minister of God to do and the following are the various bad conducts that are destroying the work of God , making many ministers fall down from the grace of God , and bringing shame to the name of the Lord .
''For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.'' Romans 2:24 In order to preserve the good name of the Lord Almighty , we must overcome all the misconducts that destroys the work of God .
1. Avoid Kissing in public
In as much as kissing is good , to express love and passion ; in some cultures like Africa , it is not really befitting for a man or woman of God to be seen kissing publicly either the spouse or anyone else . One is free to kiss a wife or husband in public , and it is not sinful in any way , yet for the man of God it is not appealing to just be kissing , romancing , passionately in public in the glare of the people watching . A pastor can give a peck to a spouse , but not really kissing so passionately , to create a romantic scene like a Hollywood star in public .
2. Avoid Playing romance in public
The minister of the gospel must avoid any romantic or erotic display in the public , where on-lookers are attracted to the scene . This demeans the healthy image of a preacher , it might not be sinful to play romance with your spouse , yet it is not proper and befitting for a minister of God to do in public . Somethings are of worldly origin ,it is not the characteristics of the child of God to emulate a worldly lifestyle , custom or way of doing things . Let us give a thoughtful approach to this scripture, '' All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.'' 1 Corinthians 10:23
3. Never sleep with a minor
Having sex with a minor in any shape, form or type is uncalled for, a man or woman of God must desist from having sexual relationship with a teenager , or even infants below 13 years of age . Such act of pedophilia is satanic arrow of disgrace to the minister of God .
Many a minister have landed in jail for doing such dastardly act to the under age , and the ministry is ruined thereby .Acts like fondling , fingering , inserting penis, kissing erotically , orally or even anally a minor is an act of sodomy and in some countries it is punishable by the law .
4. Do not hold the breast to pray for a lady
When praying for a lady , woman or the opposite sex , it is advisable not to hold the breast with your hand even if the issue is with the breast , the best you can do is to let the person herself lay her hand there , while you put your hands on top of her hand . This is important , even in privacy where you found yourself praying for a lady in your office , never touch her breast to pray for her.
Many a pastor have been lured into sexual sin due to this ignorance. The female body is like a magnet when it comes into contact with a man , especially the sensitive parts such as the breast or buttocks .
5. Do not touch the buttocks to pray for any lady
So it is equally important that you take heed not touch the buttocks of a lady , when praying for her , whether in public or private , even if her buttocks is paining her , you can simply employ the hands of an usher who is a lady or you tell the lady herself to lay hands on her buttocks while you pray for her .
It is nasty to be seen laying hands on a lady's buttocks while praying , it is like putting your hands into fire , it will burn you somehow . Touching or laying hands on such places to pray for a woman is indecent and it will automatically transfer lust to the man of God .
Apart from touching the breast or buttocks of your wife , it is unclean to touch any other woman's breast or buttocks .Please learn a virtue from this verse , ''Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,'' 2 Corinthians 6:17
6. Never put your hand under the private part to pray
It is not befitting to pray for any one laying your hand on the private part , whether male or female . Such acts are just nasty and unfit for a spiritual mood of prayer , or spiritual environment of a church congregation . If a man of God prays for a lady laying his hand on top of her private part , it is not decent , it must be avoided at all cost .
7. Never kiss church members
In as much as the scriptures talk about '' holy kiss ,'' what that means for our days is something to discover in the course of time . But in the light of our crooked generation , if a man of God has the habit of kissing church members , it could be very disastrous and tempting . In this end times , the demons that are operating in and around us are very dangerous , looking to ensnare the innocent children of God with lust . So it is very much advisable for us to abstain from kissing church members , who like the pastor himself is venerable to the spirit of lust and fornication thereof .
8. Never naked anyone purposefully to pray for the person
When praying for people especially for deliverance purposes , it is advisable for us to walk in the light of scripture and not to follow nonspiritual methods such as nakeding the person for prayers . It is occultic to do that , it is not the way of the cross of Christ .
9 . Avoid bathing people in the name of prayer or direction
Bathing people for prayer or deliverance purposes is not the way of the cross , it is a familiar spirit . While a person is naked , and is been bathed by the pastor is strictly implemented by a marine demon , not the Holy spirit .
10. Do not sleep with anyone as a prayer direction
Any voice that tells a pastor to sleep with a woman during deliverance is a lustful demon , it is a familiar spirit , it is not from the spirit of God .
11. Do not rape any church member
As a man of God sleeping with church members is fornication , so to go to the far extent of raping a church member is a great sexual scandal that can land the minister of the gospel in jail . Desist from any sexual assault , that the diabolical forces might ensnared you with .
12. Do not rob any church member
Robbing a church member is like collecting their money with a promise of doing business , investment , buying something or doing a service for them , and then you failed to do it . To this church member you have defrauded him or her , never engage in any shady business venture with your church members , where the money could be locked up some where you cannot account for it . Otherwise you become a fraudster to the church member instead of being a faithful minister of the gospel .
13. Do Not Hire members to give false testimonies
Do not hire anyone whether outside or church members to give false testimony in the house of God to the congregation of God . This is a holy crime , you are robbing God of his glory and lying in the name of the Lord . Thus you introduce the church into a satanic foundation instead of the foundation of Christ. Let us consider the following scripture ; ''44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.'' John 8:44
The moment you build a church on falsehood , it becomes satan's property and that is when the devil rules the congregation and the pastor to hell fire .
14. Do not give false testimony while preaching
As much as possible do not lie to your congregation and church members in any way , you can testify of the goodness of the Lord , but make sure that you are speaking the truth in Christ . Do not give false testimonies !
15. Do not slap church members
Some pastors do have a habit of slapping church members , something that Jesus himself never did . It is definitely wrong for a minister of the gospel to slap his church workers or members no matter the offense . Appropriate measures could be taken to discipline church members who offend you as a minister , but not slapping them .
